Removing copper tubes

OK. So it's time to put in a new faucet. But first you have to take out the old one. You will want to start this process by removing the supply lines that feed water into the faucet. You have a hot line and a cold line. Before you start cranking away with wrench or plier, you need to shut off the water to the old faucet and open the faucet. This relieves the pressure inside it. Put towels down to make the working under the sink tolerable, if not comfortable. Most likely you will have to loosen six nuts. Use an adjustable wrench to loosen the coupling nuts at the shutoff valves, and a basin wrench to loosen the coupling nuts and the lock nuts that are attached to the faucet. If you have the old-fashioned rigid supply tubes, be careful how you remove them. You kink them, and they won't be worth a hoot. Better yet, throw them out and replace them with the new flexible hoses.
